Nisa Homes

Nisa Homes is a transitional home for Muslim women and children. Born out of a need in the community whereby our Muslim sisters and children had nowhere to turn upon experiencing trauma and homelessness. As such the National Zakat Foundation established Nisa Homes as a safe haven for women and children experiencing homelessness due to obstacles such as domestic violence, resettlement and poverty. Nisa Homes currently has two locations one in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario and the second in Vancouver, British Columbia. Overall, they accommodate up to 20 women and children and provide them with the assistance and services to be able to restart their lives and live independently and self-sufficiently. Our services include counselling, case management, religious and cultural sensitivity, and referrals.
